Audiophile-Style Stereo to 5.1 Conversion
Rediscover the albums you already love with spacious, audiophile-style 5.1 surround. Fuller depth, wider presence, and the original stereo soul preserved.
Have a real 7.1 home theater receiver and speaker setup? We’re looking for selected listeners to test PhantomStage 7.1 demo conversions. Selected testers may receive one free demo track in exchange for detailed listening feedback.
Real 7.1 receiver, full speaker setup, and feedback form required.
The Conversion
Every PhantomStage 5.1 conversion is customized around the source music, your surround preferences, and your playback setup. Whether you listen through a dedicated home theater, AV receiver, or compatible 5.1 system, we shape the surround field to preserve the original stereo character while adding space, depth, and presence around you.
Front left and right channels remain untouched. Exactly as mixed, with no phase distortion or EQ coloring.
Spatial cues extracted from the original mix are diffused into rear channels. Natural, enveloping, never synthetic.
Vocals and key musical details are gently anchored in the center, adding clarity and focus without overpowering the original stereo mix.
Low-frequency energy is routed cleanly to the .1 channel. Bass extension without mud or boom.
The Process
Upload the stereo FLAC albums or songs you legally own. Lossless source files give the best results.
Your music is analyzed and shaped into a custom 5.1 FLAC presentation based on the song, your listening style, and your playback setup. Music-first surround, not film-style effects.
Get back a clean 24-bit 5.1 FLAC version of your music, built for home theater systems, AV receivers, and compatible surround playback setups.
5.1 Channel Architecture
We understand how each channel interacts in a real-world listening room. Every conversion is built around your listening position. Not a generic algorithm.
Reference Track Approval
For eligible album, custom, and membership batch projects, you choose one track you know best. We convert that reference track first and send it to you for evaluation. You then complete a guided feedback form so we can fine-tune the surround balance before applying the approved direction to the full album or batch.
How the revision flow works
Revision passes are controlled fine-tuning passes based on the available adjustment form options. They are not unlimited remixing or song-by-song reconstruction.
Pricing
All conversions are delivered as private 5.1 FLAC packages for personal use only.

Surround Styles
Every PhantomStage 5.1 conversion lets you choose the overall surround presentation and low-frequency preference. There is no single correct setting — the best choice depends on the music, your system, and how immersive you want the playback to feel.
Natural · Balanced · Music-First
The most faithful and restrained presentation. Audiophile mode preserves the original front stereo image as the foundation, with subtle center support, controlled LFE, and tasteful rear ambience for added space without changing the character of the music.
Wide · Enveloping · Spatial
A wider and more enveloping presentation with stronger rear ambience and a larger sense of space. The main musical image stays anchored in front while the listening room opens up around you.
Dramatic · Bold · Room-Filling
The largest and most dramatic PhantomStage presentation. Cinematic mode adds a stronger sense of surround presence, deeper spatial energy, and bigger room impact while still preserving the original stereo source as the core of the mix.
Note: All styles are designed to preserve the original stereo source in the front channels. The difference is how much center support, rear ambience, spatial width, and low-frequency weight are added during the custom 5.1 conversion.
Bass Preference
Included with every conversion. Select how much low-end weight and subwoofer presence you want in the final 5.1 FLAC.
Note: Both bass options use controlled LFE handling. Natural keeps the low end closer to the original stereo source, while Deep adds more physical weight for listeners who want stronger subwoofer impact.
Setup & Playback
Your converted files are 24-bit multichannel FLAC — they play on any AV receiver, home theater system, or compatible software player. Our Playback Guide walks you through setup step by step for every common system.
Connect via HDMI or optical from a media player. Set your receiver to multichannel FLAC passthrough — no Dolby or DTS decoding needed. Full step-by-step in the guide.
JRiver, Kodi, MPC-HC, and VLC all support 5.1 FLAC natively. We recommend JRiver for audiophile playback — the guide includes recommended settings for each.
All files follow the standard 5.1 channel order: L · R · C · LFE · Ls · Rs. The guide includes a channel map and speaker placement tips for the best listening experience.
